Safely into Plymouth this morning and handing over to "dslittle". An unplanned stop at Padstow and struggles with the freshwater pump but nothing Stan and the team can't handle by the sound of it - by judicious use of an umbrella, a piece of plastic pipe and a funnel maybe?

Is this the "how to survive on a liferaft" thread? Because while I could reluctantly accept the need for the pipe and funnel, I find the umbrella suggestion rather worrying.

As stated, Spirit of Frodo made a stop in Padstein as we didn't have a good handle on fuel consumption and the pessimistic assumption suggested we couldn't get all the way on what we had. Next morning the tap water pump was U/S so we gathered up all the available bottles and filled them. They were more than adequate for a drinking supply and there was plenty of sea water available for washing. On leaving Padstow we briefly fitted in a bit of sailing, but then it was back to the donk (which continued to behave perfectly) all the way to Plymouth.

We had the company of dolphins for more than three hours between Lundy and Padstow. Absolutely stunning, especially with the weather being so sunny too. I will post a video in due course.

dslittle took over at Plymouth and I got a quick message to say that S of F is in Brixham tonight. Next stop: somewhere in the Solent.

I hope the OP (Stan?) will write this up for one of the magazines. Lots of interesting stuff happening. If you are reading this, YM editor, I promise I'll buy a copy if you commission and publish the article.
