As Claims to Fame go, mine may not be the most exciting but I have met both Kylie Minogue and Ellen MacArthur and spent something like an hour in the company of each - with Ellen sailing a small boat and with Kylie making tongue-tied small talk and smiling too much (me that is, not her).

Question is - which hour, if either, would you chose if given just one?

Maybe it's just old age (mine) but I'd rather spend an hour sailing a small boat with Ellen. I'm sure I could give her some useful tips!

Why, Ellen, of course!

SWMBO choreographed a backing troupe for Kylie when she performed at Alton Towers in her early post-Charlene days. Sadly, I hadn't met my future wife at the time, but would have probably got into all sorts of trouble. Sheesh, that Charlene could adjust my tappets any day!

No contest!

You can keep your antipodean bimbo

I would much rather spend some time with a lass with real backbone and spirit.

For her young years Ellen has already achived what many would be satisfied to manage in a lifetime. I have not yet read her autobiography but have a flight to Beijing on Monday so sounds like a good time to start

Go for it Ellen!

Utmost Respect!

It's got to be Kylie, those firm buttocks and erm..........oh sorry!!
Anyway as claims to fame go, top this.
In our part of Sussex, Lawnmower racing is hot stuff in the early days the likes of the late Ollie Reed, Stirling Moss, and other celeb's use to take part.
I attended one of the first 12hour overnight races, and was standing on the pit corner when Sterling Moss came down the main straight (30mph+)lost it on the bend and crashed through the straw bales knocking me over.
FortunatlyI had just come from the pub after closing time so my limp body hit the ground in a relaxed and unharmed state. Stirling was pushed back on the track, and carried on racing unaware of the effect that this incedent would have on my life

Can't believe that some people would come on here and blatantly lie and say Ellen.

I am assuming that the hour can be spent doing whatever one wants.

So it's sitting on a boat with someone who looks like a dyke or doing something else with Kylie.

Er, let me think for a moment.......

Never said she was one, just that she looks like one. Nothing wrong in that. If that's what floats your boat....

KevB, you sad sod.

I already have a gf whose better looking than Kylie, and is a better sailor than me, so I'd turn down either K or E and go for what I have already.

Having said that, I bet Ellen is more interesting company.

Stupid Queation

We all know a shag is precisely that (a shag). So all responses are relative apart from excusivity .... I do not want Paul H (INXS) leftovers so ....... Ellen for bar-talk value .. in my dreams.

I get the impression that Kylie isnt the brightest of stars and would probably bore my ar$3 off.

Penny Lancaster could change my mind though!

Welcome to the forum Alastair.

As a newcomer you may be unaware of the Scuttlebutt initiation rite of sharing your girlfriends photo and phone number with the first forumite to welcome you on board!

Regards
Cameron ;-)
