It's an art form, and you need to keep up to date. Best way is to read the guides on the search engine pages for webmasters, and not to step outside their recommendations

I am not sure on that. I can find out for you.

In the mean time I can tell you that I was quoted 11p for every person that gets to my site having been through Google! I have been asked to set up an account with them.

BrendanS have you heard of this?

I will be doing that part of my course as soon as I qualify for suport for the next module. I must pass this bit first to prove that I am learning. I am sure that what I am telling you is correct.

Dave I think it comes from your SP, ( That stands for service provider) and they bill you.

search on various search engines, for terms you think customers will use, then see how often you appear.

If you have access to logs for your site, you can see how people turn up on the site, and the terms they used to get there, and which search engines used.

I've got full control and access , although I'm under orders not to touch anything in case I break it ,, can't see any logs though ,,, any suggestions ??

the logs, if you have full access, should be fairly easy to view. You only need view access, and can't break anything by looking.

It's an instantly recognizable play on the word 'saleroom' so stay with it. Promise me you'll change one thing though - the typo 'TRIANING' on the index page - really lets you down and looks amateurish.
