I dont think it matters particularly. What does ebay mean? (I know what it means, but WTF).

I've just had a look at the site and, because there are only 4 things on it, none of which I want right now, I probably wont go back for a while, or ever, (except that it's you <g>).

Before punting the site and driving traffic to it, it could do with something for the traffic to do when it gets there.

I think the 1st thing I would do is to put all the boaty stuff I have, that I dont really need anymore, up for sale.... and I would ask my "friends" to do the same... perhaps with BIN prices, rather than auctioning them, for fairly obvious reasons.

I would also see who is using BIN regularly on ebay and find a way of letting them know the site exists.

I would then look at all the small boaty suppliers, e.g.

http://www.tritium.co.uk/Flatennaroot.htm

(not particularly boaty, but you know what I mean)

the guy who sells the UFO Trax aerial

caravan stuff sellers

etc....

Fill the site full of stuff, and you might find that people will come.... I think that's probably how ebay grew.

Once you've got a nice core of stuff for sale, which wont disappear at the end of an auction, you can then think seriously of driving people to the site..... find all the boaty forums and smeak a bit of advertising in by way of a helpful post.... you know what I mean.

Google Ads and stuff like that.

Once you reach a certain volume, you will be able to start charging

and so on

Then sell it to ebay and retire!!!

I can't tell you, as it will depend on what software you are using, and which platform. Have a look around, it will be there somewhere. For £1000 a day, I'll log on and give you a detailed report.

I am in my first year of the government course for students that have English as their second language, to help us get into the industry.

I have done 7 months so far. I have been told by our lecturer to get on forums and talk, talk ,and talk some more. Spending time on here will help me understand the workings and networking of the computer world.

Oh...easily missed - the brain is deceived because it reads what it thinks is there. Incidentally, a great looking site with potential but I agree with everything that Richard Faulkner posted - get loads more gear on there.

Ask questions and get involved in computer problems in the Lounge forum here then and you will learn a great deal. Don't offer to solve problems though, as you don't appear to have the knowledge yet.

You do it through user options at top left of page. It's worth having a play with all the options there. Many are self explanatory, so try them all, then ask questions if you don't understand

My lectuerer has said if we start to get business he will assist us so that we don't turn away business. I need to earn more money as my benefits don't give me that much to live on. I hate the thought of loosing business though.
