No, don’t use IKEA blue bags for loading / unloading boat. As stated above, they are IMHO hopeless for that task as not waterproof and too wide so things fall out.
We do have one IKEA blue bag on board (left by daughter visited) which is used as the bag for taking clothes to/from the marina laundry.
What have been brilliant is the range of IKEA storage boxes her ladyship found which organise all the awkward spaces on board - like the quarter lockers / lazarettes, under chart table seat etc. Lots of different sizes available to optimise for these.

Our lifejackets live in one, when we aren't wearing them.

Definitely not too proud to admit we have several bits of Ikea furniture. At least as good as other mainstream suppliers and better value, IMO. In our last house I built a couple of kitchen units into an alcove in our living room and it looked like it was made to measure - very posh :)

IKEA sell bags which we use for bedding and clothing. Large and have a long zip for easy access.

Gets stuff ashore in the dinghy dry.

£3.50 each and we have four or five. Makes bedding changes simple and trips to the laundrette easy.
Yep "DIMPA" - we keep our bromptons in them on board - ooops beat me to it

Oh yes you can. A few holes and a bit of cord, lace the top together. Small brass eyelets if you want it to last longer.
See #27

Comes complete with zip. Translucent so you can see what it holds. No need to overfill at £3 each. Shower/spray proof.

Oh how glad I am that I have a very dry boat. I rarely suffer from the damp problems others seem to have, so when on board, bedding stay out 24/7 plus I do leave some clothes laid out in the forward berths.
keeping a boat in a marina does help with transporting too & fro though
I do use a dry bag for the dirty washing. If away for a long time & it gets full I know I have to go to a laundry before return home. Wife will not accept for washing any thing back that does not fit in the bag:mad: just one of those rules

I am proud to say that I have never been in IKEA, or owned any of their bags.
Bit like me. I am proud to say that I have reached the age of 72 without having owned, nor indeed worn a Tilly hat or a Barbour coat or claret trousers. I do however use blue IKEA bags for rope storage in lockers, easy lift in and out.

Getting back to the question I use one to stow Anti Bottom Slapper in the chain locker.
Anti Bottom Slapper is not an unpleasant relative-it is my home made device to stop waves slapping under the stern quarter at night.

I use them to transport stuff to the boat. Then they are very useful for foul weather - you put one on the cabin sole and stand in to get out of your waterproofs. Stops everything from getting soaked.

Step out of the bag into your slippers and fire up your pipe.

PS I bought some from ebay very cheaply as getting to IKEA would cost more than the bags
