sorry, can not do it yourself, you will be out by the time you would do the machine they are not that automatic..should you buy one? you must get a doctor order to buy, no big deal and training takes about 4 hrs to be certified. if you can afford one and want one , get one, regardless of what these people are saying, just realize a second person is needed.

I suppose a couple of egg cups with electrical insulating tape around the outside with jump leads conected to a large capacitator would be good. The shocks to the goolies would prepare SadandSolo for an electric sex life on his return from the sea. Other option woud be to tame a couple of electric eels and get them to .... yaaraaaaargghhhh.........
I always sail with at least one Resuscitation Council registered Advanced Life Support Instructor, however that would not do me any good as it is me! If you were really concerned about the risk of cardiac arrest whilst sailing you could always have an Automatic Implantable Cardiovertor Defirillator, should get one in for under £10,000 or you could try ebay and after all do they not have their appendices out before a stint in Antartica?

You could also use this apparatus for electro- convulsive therapy when you get really depressed on long passages- just put the egg cups on your temples and press the button- instant happiness is yours.

reading the replies makes me think that i must be on a site full of american hill people, not informed brits, fact is that the defib will not shock you if not needed, and you will be out if the shock is needed, do what you want, make fun, but don't expect help if the tools arn't there.
