<I understand that they even do odd things to sheep?>

Nah - that's the Welsh you're thinking of. Why do you think the Welah national dress is a pair of wellies?

Re: Haggis

Help!!!!! What are "neeps" please?????

I spent 18 months suffering in the late Maryhill Barracks and never heard the expression. Mind you I only understood about a quarter of the language used by my platoon and had to guess the rest. Most of them came from the Gorbals!!!!! They were a great crowd but I got a bit fed up having to appear in court so often to vouch for their "good" characters!!!!

Re: Haggis

turneeps or swede to the English.

Absolutely delicious when mashed and taken with haggis and mashed tatties.

theres a place in galway that has a menu dedicated to that particular delicacy.has all the usual sweet shop stuff, m&m's mars bars etc. my own personal favourite is deep fried rock, eaten hot. its gone fairly soft, and dribbles down your chin.then it gets cold and hard.decandence!!!!
