I am interested in the idea of becoming crew or delivering power boats.
I have been into the general boating scene since I was aged 7 and first hit the water at 11. But I have no qualifications!!!!!

What would I need, how much would it cost and how do I go about getting them?
Any help would be appreciated.

Also do people employ couples? The fiance is also very competant on board and has her first aid to boot.

Chris,

You are going to need nothing less than Yachtmaster with a Commercial Endorsement. That way you can also secure liability insurance, which is no bad idea these days either.

Several ways of doing that...a slow progression through the RYA range of courses, which arguably will give you a lot more experience, or the fast-track approach. UKSA in Cowes offer those (you'll see their ads in the back of our mags). UKSA also offer an employment service and appear to be quite successful at placing their students, so if you want to do it now, perhaps give them a call.
