Practically impossible. Too many manufacturers, too many models - often made in tiny numbers - and too many variations - practically every boat is at least to some extent customized. See this for previous discussion.

Thank you for the reply. I'm not looking for any boat previously owned/registration, etc, I'm more interested in boats that exist/existed on the market. But can you give the most complete list you know, even if it doesn't have them all. Something with specs of the boat would be a plus.

Dayton's Publishing produced a "Guide to the Yachts of UK, Europe and Scandinavia" in 1987 which was fairly comprehensive (1,186 pages!) for the time though there were omissions. The same publisher also produced its companion "Guide to the Yachts of Yesteryear" in 1988. Again it was not exhaustive but covered about 1,000 sailing yachts that were then no longer in production. Both are long out of print and as far as I know were never updated.

I have a 25th anniversary (1989) edition of Bristows Book of Yachts which contains about 400 boats (including some power boats).

I know of no websites that do anything like this.

Not published any more I believe, but Bristows Book of yachts was an annual publication of most production boats - at least those that were prepared to submit an entry (& probably pay foor the priviledge!)

I found a couple of sites (http://www.powerandmotoryacht.com/boat-builders/ http://www.iboats.com/New-Boats/) a lot similar to others you suggested. It's kinda of what I'm looking for...

But if there's not a site with a relatively complete list, are there different sites with lists for different types of boats?
