CAUTION when buying from a broker

In my opinion, it is wrong.

Sorry, but you are in a Service Industry which unfortunately means that you must be at work whilst others are at play.

I am not suggesting that you work seven days a week but it seems ludicrous to me that ANY broker ANY takes time off during this potentially lucrative bank holiday weekend.

But, clearly, you have your priorities.

I hope, for your sake, IKEA do not share them.

Chinita please, work for just one day in a busy brokerage office then comment.

And I do work seven days, often till 10 pm. :cool:

Yacht brokers also have to adhere to the following:

If offering marine finance are required to have a consumer credit license from the FSA.

and will fall foul of local trading standards and VAT officers for other offences.

You are taking isolated incidences and via a public well read world wide form taring all unfairly.

Chill guys. Many / most brokers do a good job. A few bad ones and/or mediocre ones having a bad day let the side down - just like other trades.

And whilst a medium sized broker should be able to rota staff to cover 7 days without anybody working 24x7, it is very difficult running any service company if sole trader or equivalent

My point is that you have never done the job that I do so you know less about the realities of it than I -despite your comment.

My point is that despite what you said 100's were working.

My point has nothing to do with how hard you worked, I really have no interest in what you did or how hard you did it.

Just found that comment insulting, and ill informed, to all of us who work long antisocial hours.

I shouldn't have risen to it and spoiled my Sunday so you win, ok.

I thought it was totally out of order. Chinita seems a rather unhappy bunny at the moment for some reason. I hope whatever's causing it is not serious and he cheers up soon.

Thanks. I found the exchange a bit upsetting to be frank, and I usually have a thick skin in here.

Anyhow its 1.00am

I have an offer on a boat from Australia that has just come in. So I'm working at 1.00am Sunday night/Monday morning.

Chin up jonic, look on the brightside, i got my BBQ in the end (them Magmas really are something!). Had a nice little seat with a fender strapped to the windpilot!

Hope the beach was not to cold, keep up the good work :)

Read all the posts on here and I find it strange that so called professionals surveyors and brokers try to drum up business on a forum ? If there that good as they say ,why are they doing it at the exspense of others who pay for adds?:confused:
 
Jeez, but you are a miserable git. I had business dealings with Jonic long before I encountered him on the forum, he is a guy I respect and enjoy hearing from.

Here you go again! You really do seem to have an unfathomable problem - you ought to see somebody about it.

BRA is a subset of BMF which includes boat dealers, boatbuilders, electronic manufacturers, chandlers and Uncle Tom Cobley and all. Does that make you feel better?

When you deal with a professional you deal with him as an individual, not with an organisation he belongs to. Some may be members of the Rotary, some may even be Freemasons or members of the local church choir.

It would be really helpful if you were specific about what your concerns are - otherwise it is pointless you responding to anything I post - particularly when as in this instance it is nothing to do with surveyors - which seems to be where you have the unknown problem.

Based on what I have heard from you so far that would be one of the last things I might ever want to do.

This forum is made up of an extremely disparate group with varying levels of boating experience and knowledge; some (like jonic) have considerable offshore experience and also are working in the business every day, I, for one welcome their willingness to take time share their experience with me for free. It would be regrettable if a vocal minority (of two?) were to succeed in driving them away, their posts are valued by those of us who are able to understand the value of their input.
