Amongst other aspects of business life here at work, I am allowed to poke my nose into the buying and selling of company cars. Of course, my input is not always hugely constructive, as with the purchase of a vehicle for one of our staff some four years ago. I enquired at the DVLC regarding special number plates, and securd for him the highly appropriate registration V 13 ALD which can be slightly adjusted to read "V BALD". The time has come to replace the car and for some reason the chap has decided against the idea of transferring the plate - hence the opportunity arises for someone else. Any offers?

OK - I'll take it. Half the purchase price goes to the Fleetwood Lifeboat. These personalised numbers are a bit old hat now and so the prices are dropping considerably I've noticed - tell you what - I'll take it off your hands for a tenner

Hum, that wd make it rather a poor deal as i think i need to spend 80 quid on getting the transfer done. Tell you what, perhaps you can agree to a straight swap of this with your existing number FT1GHT , maybe?

One of our offices is in a rather louche part of London, famous for its preponderance of sex shops, massage parlours, porno cinemas etc. (no, I didn't chose the location). Recently I saw a Range Rover parked outside one of these emporia, bearing the number plate B16GUN.

I bet the owner says that to all the girls - but then Range Rovers are a fair size.

As I am not (yet) in the market for a syrup, I'm not interested in making an offer on V13ALD, though I shall draw it to the attention of my old man, who is a strong contender for the post of Chairman of Slaphead plc.

Overtook a merc on the M27 today M1 TYT looked at driver expecting to see some glamourpuss. No luck, some old boy in control and alone. I also spotted PEN 15 in Hammersmith some years ago.

Oooh, you must be a great boss! Me, I'm still dreaming of MAN510N, sadly an IOM plate never to be issued.
