Broker responsibilities

I have just purchased a yacht in the med from an online broker. Following the survey I asked for a few jobs to be undertaken and was assured they would be done. on arrival I noticed that one of the jobs had not been done properly which means a repair bill of at least £1000. The money had already been passed on to the seller by the broker therefore I was hoping someone may have some advice on who may be responsible? I was unable to get the surveyor to check the work as he was out of the country and trusted the seller to have the job done properly.

I would greatly appreciate anyones advice.
