Well big day today - our first trip!
And apart from a possible slightly blocked fuel tank vent, it went very well. Nothing fell off and as far as I can tell no leaks anywhere.
Adventured out of the marina after a 2 year hiatus. Turned left and went to the fuel pontoon. £2-00 a litre, you robbers! Didnt fill it as I am not sure how big the tank is (250 maybe 300 litres) or how long a tank's worth will last. So it is about half full for now.
Then we battled the violent and extreme one knot river current, sheltered from the hurricane winds ( well 5 knots tops), positively roared along at 1800rpm doing a terrifying 5 to 6 knots. and it was sunny mostly. So a nice trip out to York and back, all of about 8 miles maybe 9. Engines etc all behaved themselves, warmed up and stayed there at @ 75 degs C. and the outdrives didn't fall off. Which was nice.
My first time with a inboard petrol boat on the river and after running big diesels in the past it was all a lot quieter and not at all smelly from exhaust fumes.
So I guess that this thread is now done. Anyone else got a bit of a project on the go???
