Can anyone recommend a good book about close quarters handling of twin engine boats? When I sailed, I swore by a really good series of articles published years ago in PBO by John Goode - but they were specific to sailing yachts. I know it's a matter of practice, but I'm one of those people who likes to see the concepts in print - preferably with lots of pictures.

I'm not sure what's available in the UK, but "Boat Docking" by Charles Lowe is excellent...and here in the US there are number of excellent videos about twin screw boat handling, available from West Marine, BOAT/US and prob'ly Amazon too.

However, although the principles are the same no matter what the size or configuration of the vessel, every boat handles differently...responds differently. So once you've grasped the principles of what makes the boat go where, there is no substitute for practice.

And btw...I've been a boat owner all my life--32-36' twins...both express and flybridge sedans, which I often single-hand. For some strange reason, men find it mind-boggling that a woman can do it. :)
