Can anyone recommend the best type of fabric for the base of cushions. I know it is best if it is something that will be water repellent and resist mildew formation if there is condensation. Also where can I purchase this?
Thanks John

Try using closed cell rubber sheet . Its warm to touch and does not absorbe water
comes in sheets about 6ft x 4ft easy to cut with scissors or s/knife place between bunk and cushions
I had some from B.B.S. Stourport on Severn ( cheap) 01922 821027

I had been thinking along those lines. My first thought was polystyrene sheets, but they arn't robust and a fire risk. Then I thought of using camping 'sleeping mats' as they are easily cut to shape, and won't 'ruck' up.
As for a fabric for the underside of the cushions, when mine come up for replacement, I think I might use an open mesh nylon.

Have discovered an excellent waterproof breathable range of fabrics and am getting our cushions recovered this month.
Am away from home at so send me a note of your email address and I'll send you details later in the week.

I've been lurking around in this thread 'cos I've got this job coming up myself. So if anyone does have the details requested in the above post, that'll be two grateful people...

Cheers
