During our dog’s illness we never got to take the boat out….and I suspect that there was something in the water in our estuary berth….because the shell fish build up was nothing like I’d seen before in that time period.
Needless to say it was a traumatic experience getting the boat to the lift out

I had a lift out in March in Izola/Slowenia.
New Antifoul and back in water.
Mid July I when was on the Italien coast it was nescessary to clean Underwater and Props so had a 2 hrs dive.
Mid October boat had a lift again in Sicily, but this time there was not much growth.
Even props were clean, but the bowthruster - not only is it too weak, but that was also realy bad.
I have used a normal hard antifouling for props/rudders/flaps which seam to work - but the thrusters were given same Seajet as the hull.
Hope for a better result with thruster next year....
 
I've been on board superyachts for the last 17 years. 2 years ago was the first time I've ever had to clean the air conditioning inlet (from outside, under the boat) mid season because it wasn't allowing enough water through to cool the compressors. Happened again this year.
 
Did the shouting make it better? It never seems to work for me, although at the time I'm 100% confident that it will elicit the perfect resolution to the predicament

The wife was having some communication issues (she’s fluent so no blame there)…but I wanted a boat on hand to help in that last part where there’s not a spare inch and it’s all concrete.
So I was expecting the crane operators boat…the one he showed us earlier in the week when we discussed it…instead the capitainerie boat showed up at my berth…it was way windier than the 5mph XCWeather.com said it was….so I followed the capitainerie boat all the way to the take out…and all was fine.
We get close to the take and the capitainerie park their boat !
That’s when it went wrong 😩
First the boat spun in the wind…I eventually got under control…and got closer…but I was still getting blown and stern wasn’t lining up…and I was now being yelled at from all sides !
But I just couldn’t get the fine manoeuvre to line up perfectly…and every adjustment I made made it worse…the guy on the yacht in front thought I was too close and people behind were vigorously gesticulating…and I didn’t know why because reversing and repeating was my go to move…
Eventually the crane operator got in his boat and nudged me over and all was good…never hit or touched anything.
So all in all extremely embarrassing and shameful in front of the entire staff of the port.
It wasn’t until I was safely on land and walking around that I realised that those people right behind me who were yelling at me…had a diver in the water 😳
 
This does remind me of one of my many embarrassing incidents. I was going into St Katherine's Dock (in the tidal Thames) in a Fairline 40, Just as I was making my final approach towards the entrance, one of my engines stopped. It was too late to do anything and as the tide was running, it caught my bow and swung me around 180 degrees. My only option was to give the running engine full beans in reverse and I ended up reversing into the lock. Thankfully I didn't hit anything, and I did have a massive audience as I tied up backwards in the lock. It was then that some smart@rse shouted "leaving already!?"
 
If only you'd realised, you got have got him to clean the thruster props!
I was considering getting a diver....but they aren’t allowed to clean it in port....and I had the feeling that the job was more than can be done underwater
