Firstly, a very sincere thank you to SteveRow for all his help with connecting the antenna on my radio last weekend and making it talk to the GPS. He was already tied up working on his engine when this chap who he's never met turns up asking for assistance but he effectively dropped everything to do the job for me. A marvellous advert for this forum and the people who subscribe to it.
Secondly, is it acceptable to attach a forum flag to the antenna? This may seem a frivolous question but I've got nowhere else to put it.
Thirdly, I'm off on my travels. My plan is to make Pwllheli and back over the next two weeks or so with stops at Milford, Cardigan, Aberystwyth and Pwllheli on the way. My main concern is diesel, I can do Milford to Aber with no problem but I was hoping to stay in Cardigan for a few days and explore the coast and won't have the fuel capacity to do it unless I can fill up at Fishguard. Reeds tells me that diesel is available from a bowser but the harbour master says they ship it out in cans - is that the same thing? If anyone has any information or advice on this it will be gratefully received. It appears to be the same at Cardigan; I know there are commercial fishing vessels going from both places - how on earth do they fill up?
It's obvious from reading the forum that a wealth of knowledge on places to stop, eat and drink along this route exists and I'd be happy to follow up on any or all suggestions and recommendations. SWMBO and I would also welcome the opportunity to meet other forumites if the opportunity presents itself.
Look forward to hearing from you.
