Balearics - Ebola

I had noticed the Murcia comment , I thought the other case or cases were in Madrid ? watching BBC news this morning and there was quite a lot about Madrid and nothing about the Balearics.... yet

My company has work going on all over West Africa and everyone has bailed, none of the crews want to transit through airports ETC... I hope they catch this and contain it fast in Spain !

It might be more contagious than they think when a fully suited up nurse got infected in the Madrid incident.

scary or what....

just touching someone's hand is enough to get contaminated ; presumably sneezing would cause infection as well. It wouldn't take much for it to turn into an epidemic. Just guessing that public lavatories would be very very dangerous.

There was a doctor on BBC world service last night explaining that you would need to come in contact with body fluids that contained the virus, the contact area would need to have access to internal bits of your system , so getting it on your skin wouldnt necesarily infect you , he went on to say really it needed to be vomit or blood, I must confess to being a bit more wary of the beach vendors selling knock off glasses etc ,
NON RACISTCOMMENT ...Invariably they are African and who knows what contact has been had with family members or what efforts have been made to get their own families to safer places.

I actually work in West Africa, and was in Nigeria for 1 month, only coming home 3 weeks ago. :-)))))))))).

They did have several cases, in Lagos but they isolated over 500 people who were in contact with them, and after the 3 week incubation period, everyone got the all clear.

I was offshore on a semi and a drillship.

There is now NO Ebola in Nigeria now. You get screened at the airports and hotels, daily. They isolated the infected parsons, and then waited 3 weeks, as that’s the incubation period, and if no symptoms, then they are clear and free to go about their business.

Really ? Im in Indonesia now and thats not the way its portrayed on the TV , they keep refering to West AFrica , in Particular Liberia , we have a ship in Gabon that is struggling for seismic crew as no one wants to transit the local area, rumour is the company are chartering a flight elsewhere and sending a crew boat instead of the usual chopper flights , didnt i also see on the news the British pongos going into Nigeria in HAZMAT kit ?
