it seems that this issue is partially dominated by members from this forum.

I think I'm in there somewhere too, taking the boat down to S of France last year, but the postman has made sure I won't get to cringe over it for another month. off to the boat tomorrow very early - maybe I can get a copy at the airport. If its that bad I might not come back!

Nice article, puts into perspective the potential 'savings' from buying abroad very well. Certainly interesting for me anyway considering I had planned to buy from the US had I not found the boat we've now got in the UK.

Where does one get that forum burgee from then ?

Handy to know who to look for on the Westline display at Southampton as well, although I'll guess he'll probably be looking a bit more jaded from all the punters questions /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I hope so!!! My biggest fear is we sit for 10 days and see no-one! Everyone is welcome on the boat, I'll make sure the fridge has a few sherberts in for interested parties!!!!

[Cheesy Smile] But sir, when people see the boat they will falling over themselves to get to their cheque book [/Cheesy Smile]

That is, in fact, a concern but I don't know how many people really turn up to a boat show and buy a boat they have not seen before. I think there is a certain amount of figure massaging that goes on by builders and dealers. I am hoping that a few people say 'yes, that looks good, I'd like a demo/chat/longer visit to discuss it...'

lol, I've seen that smile before on my BMW salesman mate when he's trying to tempt me yet again, seems to be standard issue for them /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Have to say after our first visit to southampton last year it did surprise me how many times I could've handed over £500 for an 'order'. SWMBO had to take my wallet off me in the end /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yes, but those orders are pretty pointless (though they do make you feel better) as they can cancell easily with a full refund. Until a decent (10%) deposit is paid and the boat on order it doesn't count. I am not that interested in orders that fall through, I would just like the opportunity to present what I think is a good product to interested people and go on from there.

BTW, used to be a BMW salesman!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Edited by Dan Foley: Hi guys, I'm afraid I've had to take the article off. We provide a repro service, if articles appear like this for free then our customers would rightly question why they have to pay for pdfs. Sorry to spoil the party!

Since I wrote the article and provided pictures and haven't been paid yet, could I repost it till you do? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do you actually provide PDFs now, rather than crappy black & white photocopies?
