I have Prime in my car and was listening to Otis singing this on the way to the port....one of my favorite songs...down on his luck guy with nothing better to do. But when I got to the port....there was a down at his heels, beer can by his ankle, bloke sitting on the dock of the bay.....and I didn’t like it ...not one bit. He seemed far too interested in the comings and goings...was he casing the joint ? Sometimes romance and reality collide

Yeah, the romance and the reality. Which is true? What are now known as travellers were tinkers when I was growing up, and there were lots of songs and stories celebrating and romanticising the lifestyle. Now they're outcasts. At one time, as a child, I thought I'd love the train hopping hobo lifestyle. I didn't know people cross the street when they approach.
