“SETAG’ing” on the cheap

Sounds like a fun thing to do. But again be careful, the bulk of the value in a £15K boat is the engine and drive. So look very carefully for the right boat. I would be looking for a scruffy boat with a tired/damaged interior but with good engine(s). Get that wrong and your £10K will disappear rapidly into the engine etc.
I am guessing at the £15K mark and 25 foot size you will be looking at petrol engined boats. If so look for one that has had the engine exhaust risers recently replaced and some evidence of reasonable servicing. DIY servicing is fine as long as there are some receipts for parts. Also don't forget the costs of mooring or hard storage, insurance etc whilst you do the work

Assuming you find a good candidate, go for it. Post some pics.

I have been doing this over the last year - Im not in a rush. It is probably about as far as anyone with any sense, would want to go without moving bulkheads, which is NOT a good idea. I will do an update later for MrG
Bought another boat.

That is very impressive. Your headliner work in post 65 (Bought another boat.) and wrap work in post 164 (Bought another boat.) looks great. So fresh.

I’ve just watched the Aquaholic video in Jim Davidson’s Prinny 61 Seatag refurbishment. Clearly Jim is very pleased with the outcome. There are a couple of things that look a bit odd to me, especially the new drinks cabinet in the saloon, which looks nothing like the rest of the cabinetry. I’ve no idea what the costs were, and Jim has some deep pockets, and he probably got mates rates for the vid and promotion. I did quite a major internal upgrade on my old Azi. I specified the materials and outcome, and outsourced the work. I was very pleased with the results.
