You certainly don't give anything away, not many clues there.
Having consulted C.C-S's River Thames book. I'd suggest upstream of Pinkhill Lock, The sun's about right, and the river's wider there as the view is on a bend.
I nearly nominated Godstow's House weir, but that's the wrong direction.
Your last picture was in that area - You'll have to do some views the other side of Oxford...

Darn it... you beat me too it, I thought Pinkhill or somewhere up near Rushy, certainly not south of Oxford because of the sun.

Now we have a needle match - rushing to get in first. Fun, because the picture is not that straightforward; methinks Timothy has cropped the picture a bit (or composed it carefully in the first place), just to make it a bit more of a challenge!
Of course, there's still scope to be wrong - we must wait for the author to reveal all.
These Thames where-is-it threads are much more fun than the other forums versions, but perhaps that's because I think I know my river.

Not a needle match, just healthy competition /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I thought I knew my river as well, but this one isn't obvious. It appears to be looking downstream over a weir, so with the sun setting in the west that narrows it down bit. I recognise that line of trees in the background and thought the same as you, but can't be sure as I haven't been up there for at least 5 years.
Good one Timothy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I'm bit stuck on this one, its looking west.. ish over a weir with a lock to the right presumably going downstream in a roughly north direction, I just can't make it fit anywhere on the Thames.
Some of you guys will go to a lot of effort to get it right. Well done, I hadn't even thought about which way the lock was in comparison to the setting sun!
The photo has not been cropped or reworked in anyway but I did reduce the size / quality in the hope that you wouldn't spot the Lock Sign on the right of the picture. The photo was taken from the moorings directly above Pinkhill Lock during May this year. I do have many pictures below Oxford but I was using the ones above in the hope that it might fool you low down boys.
More to come at a later date.

Phew! - gasp of relief, but for the sign, I would have been stumped. Thanks to Microsoft Picture Manager I could lighten it up a bit. I reckon I have reasonable knowledge of most of the non-tidal bit - but I'm always willing to learn.
Anyway it raises public awareness of this great river.
Good old Mike. Searching for information again. I never said I had a Freeman. I seem to remember on one post you told me I had a liberty not putting my boat name on my profile! Just checked yours! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
