No, but quite a bit of chocolate has fallen over the fence.Does anyone here go into their neighbours garden to stop their dog barking when the neighbour is at work?
I expect you know that chocolate is poisonous for dogs? Seems a bit harsh to poison the yapping hound. No, but quite a bit of chocolate has fallen over the fence.
Can be done by pulling the halyard until the shackle sits firmly at the mast top.A friend on the next mooring won't hesitate to go aboard an unattended boat and sort out any noisy halyards.
So you are prepared to vandalise coz you are a teensy bit inconvenienced? Can be done by pulling the halyard until the shackle sits firmly at the mast top.
The owner thereby has a chance to learn what others think of his noisy mess.
I've heard...

Yeh, I thought it meant applying tension with cordage to tension other cordage, a la "frapping turns", though I've never looked it upI thought frapping was the act of securing the halyard so it doesn't clatter, not the clattering itself.
No. Not if a teensy bit.So you are prepared to vandalise coz you are a teensy bit inconvenienced?

Yes, I'd say soNo. Not if a teensy bit.
And marina staff doesn't do anything in this regard.
I'm visiting the marina daily and looking for days for owners of the most annoying clankers. Even left a note on a few.
Bit if owners never show up....

Neither I nor my neighbours have dogs but I expect that as we are all quite civilised we would have a chat about a persistent issue and see if there was an easy solution (might even involve me walking the mutt occasionally!) but if I’ve left a gate banging in the wind and it’s annoying one of my neighbours I’d have no issue with them popping round to stop it, and I’m sure the same it true in the other direction. I also have no issue with anyone hopping on board to fix a rattly halyard and despite all the macho talk I don’t believe anyone is taking vengence like that unless they’ve actually had face to face arguments over it.Does anyone here go into their neighbours garden to stop their dog barking when the neighbour is at work?

Not anymore, I sold it when they were outDoes anyone here go into their neighbours garden to stop their dog barking when the neighbour is at work?
I'd rather a hundred clattering halyards than one yapping dog.Dogs barking is considered ASB. One of our neighbours bought one as company when her husband died. Unfortunately she didn't bother training it and just shuts it out in the garden where it barks incessantly. Since her hubby died some 3 years ago, the neighbours have now started complaining.
