Can anyone comment on those Alphaline ones since this thread? I'm looking for a 110Ah dual purpose one (it's only a 12HP single cylinder with a decompressor so the cranking loads aren't huge) and their prices seem reasonable.

I've got an XV31 and it's been fine over the last 2 years. The boat has been on the hard for most of that time though, and I've made a point of keeping it close to fully charged.

I have a DC31 from 2010 for domestics. Works brilliantly, even during winter.

Have it in the garage now and check it regularly. Still shows 13v after sitting there since october with no additional charge.

I looked into this early in 2013 when I replaced all 4 of my Jeanneau batteries at 7yrs old.

If you look carefully at the cases of both Alphaline and other discount battery co's products they are identical and onl;y the names on the outside vary. In the end I got the best quote for all 3 leisuire & 1 cranking battery from Megabatterystore. IIRC they are all waranteed for 2yrs

I bought a 125AH XPLORER DEEP CYCLE LEISURE BATTERY at the beginning of last year from Alpha Batteries

The Xplorer range seem to be quite good

How are you getting on with them?
I have four of these on our boat, but think we may have knackared them somehow. I think our mains charger and solar charger had a falling out and the batteries may have been overcharged. They don't seem to hold as much charge as they used to. Bit disappointing seeing as they're only a couple of years old.

I was wondering whether it's possible to top them up at all? I've heard that many sealed batteries are actually normal batteries with the filler caps covered up.
