Is it just me? But the advert bar down the side seems to be slowing the page load speed excessively, can something be done?

deliberate delay

No, not just you!

Have you ever wondered why a web page sometimes take ages to load ? But incidentally, the ads are there, just not the actual article ?

I don't think doubleclik, adclick or similar ads are optimized for fast load. They just might be optimized for something else, entirely.

I use Chrome.

I do not have Adblock enabled on the forum pages.

You should not see the Adbar if you are logged in

I dont see it when I am logged in ( normally I am automatically logged in)

I see it if I log out but I had not noticed that it slows me down

Same with all internet banking sites - take ages to load because they are full of useless, unnecessary graphics, ads etc.
Wish I could just have the page relevant to mu needs.
Grump grump grump

:confused::confused::confused:

If you're logged in, you shouldn't see any ads. They changed this a year or two ago after people complained about the slow loading. Easier to just turn them off for members than try to make them faster.
