    Todays escapades

5 berth cruiser ? On a trailer ? I've got a Range Rover but I think even that may struggle unless it's less than 3.5 tonnes !!

    Donzi

I'd be heading out to the channel with it, open it up and let rip :d Csail, I think it's a ZR 38, all white with a red flash down the side. It's moored up on the end of the pontoon by Cardiff Bay Boat Sales in the marina. Having seen them in their 'natural environment' of Miami / Lauderdale...

    Donzi

Anyone know who's the funky Donzi ZR is that's turned up in Penarth Marina ? Hadn't been through there for a few months until the weekend and saw it moored up, have to admit they're my dream craft (if I'd won the lottery and could afford to feed the injuns with gogo juice). I hadn't missed not...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

Re: And the winner was.... I did the basic one with 5 photos and the big description. Everyone that called, when I asked if they had anymore questions just said no, they had everything they needed from the advert. That was certainly the key to it. What really surprised me was the amount of...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

Re: And the winner was.... 2 websites generated the most interest (had it on 3). It was sold via the boatsandoutboards advert, had probably 25 or more enquiries from that one and all the viewings came from that advert, along with all the overseas enquiries (Spain x 2, Greece x 3, Turkey &...

    I predict a great summer

Reason for the prediction ? Well, yesterday we sold our boat and handed her over to the new owners, so it's bound to be a stunning summer on the water. The good news is that she's not only staying in Cardiff, but she's actually staying at CBYC and possibly even in 'our' berth as the new owners...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

And the winner was.... Well, a mix of Coastgal and myself actually. Boat sold yesterday for the full asking price (!) of nearly £12k to a local buyer. Sold to the 2nd viewer who was to be fair the first serious viewer, number 1 was dreaming. Had plenty of emails when it first went up for sale...

    Marine servicing

No worries As is the norm, they've discovered an extra job required on ours today whilst removing the leg (all the bellows have perished), so that's any ideas of putting her in the water this weekend blown. Still, rather that than droppping her in and having to fish her off the bottom a few...

I know it's credit crunch and all that but,

Re: I know it\'s credit crunch and all that but, [ QUOTE ] I had calls from Sweden, Germany Ireland and Malta. So the answer is yes, boats are generally going overseas. Mine almost did. New boat arrives on Wednesday all ready for the Bank Holiday weekend [/ QUOTE ] I finally got round to...

    Marine servicing

Sneds I booked ours in for an engine / leg service last week with Westpoint, earliest slot I could get was for this Thursday and that's with them coming down to CBYC to pull the leg off and take it back to the new workshop. They're pretty busy atm by the looks of things. Still recommend them...

    May Bank Holiday

Well, engine and leg's being serviced this week and all things being equal this weekend will see a frenzy of activity on the cleaning front as SWMBO and I scrub the congealed muck off, followed by a bit of a splosh as I back the trailer down the CBYC slipramp to put Whi-Ski-n-Water back into the...

    Cardiff Marine Village

I think the marine village servicing chap is the cambrian marine guy (may be wrong though). He's very reasonable and does a really good job, we use them to service ours and I have to say they were cheaper than I'd expected for a full engine / leg service. Now I'm back in the UK it'll be heading...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

Re: Writing a good advert - what\'s the secret ? I'm looking to them at the moment to see what assistance they'll give, there comes a point where you have to draw a line under the losses of selling quickly and put that money toward bringing stuff here. Shipping the house contents is included in...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

Re: Writing a good advert - what\'s the secret ? Blimey ! Thanks very much for all the replies, I'll take it all 'onboard' so to speak (although it's pretty much re-written for me!) and get ready to put the advert up. I've got a ballpark idea of £11k for the price, looking about on t'interweb...

    Writing a good advert - what's the secret ?

Re: Writing a good advert - what\'s the secret ? May, you're not wrong, it was SWMBO who decided we were having this boat originally. All I was concerned about was that it was the only 2150 I'd seen with the V8 option, rather than the V6 they all seemed to be fitted with. She went through the...
