As Rappey says, Treadmaster can be an absolute bxxxxx to get off. Our Westerly Corsair had the decks covered in the stuff. A combination of sanding, electric plane, electric scraper, etc plus many, many hours of hard unpleasant work eventually removed it. We painted the decks afterwards.
Apologies all! As you can see, I had nothing to say in the above post. In an idle moment I was checking the Forum because I was about to fit some replacement teak coachroof handholds. I must have accidentally pushed a wrong button and replied to these old posts. (By the way, I used butyl...
I have the ePropulsion. It's excellent, quiet, plenty powerful enough for my inflatable. However, it's expensive., around £1500 when I bought it three years ago......
Many thanks to you all for such useful comments and in particular to Little Sister for thoughts on the LM7.
As Little Sister correctly states, there's not much room in the LM27 heads, and elsewhere for that matter as the designer has crammed an awful lot into the boat and as a consequence...
As part of major refit on my new-to-me LM27, I have fitted an new Jabsco toilet and a holding tank. Both the toilet and the holding tank are above the waterline. The inlet to the toilet has a secondary ball valve by the toilet as a precaution. The discharge hose from the toilet rises further...
You have flagged the Westerly Corsair. I have owned one for around twenty years. The boat is safe, seaworthy, fast and very comfortable. I have been out in her in a F10 in the Med. Thre boast was fine though. As you can imagine, I was not. I have sailed her in the North Sea, the Channel, Biscay...
I've also posted this on the Motor Boat Form but I'm hoping there will be some experience of this here.
I have a Vetus windscreen wiper on my LM27 which has a splined axle - I think Vetus call this a 'knurled shaft' - on the motor onto which the wiper arm is attached. This wiper arm has fallen...
Another wipers question! I have a Vetus windscreen wiper on my LM27 which has a splined axle - I think Vetus call this a 'knurled shaft' -on the motor onto which the wiper arm is attached. This wiper arm has fallen off a couple of times and there appears to be wear on the splines/shaft. I'm...
Many thanks everyone - that is really helpful. My particular problem is space, or rather, lack if it. The LM27 is a lovely little boat but everything is very tight!. The only place for the HT is small and below the water line. Moreover, the base of the tank is below the site of the exit seacock...
