Because I'm new to all this and asked what it is? A simple explanation, "you can find out here" would have sufficed,So why did you respond so oddly when Old Harry told you?
Pete
Is it? Ok awesome thank you I will go an have a look shortly, thank you,Old Harry's post is a clickable link to the Seawych web site. The boat that you are asking about is a Seawych...

Do you know what they are like? Any good? Or just good in their prime? Just curious like I said to someone else I'm new to all this, never owned a boat let alone restore one. So many more stupid questions will follow
Thank you will read through shortly, appreciate it.I have no idea but there is some useful information in this thread from a couple of years ago, as well as on the owners web site......
Fingers crossedTheres a very knowledgeable owner on the forum, maybe he will turn up

Ah! Ok that kind of sums up the boat I have ? my intention is not to restore to sell, my intention is to restore and enjoy fun times, I'm not interested in getting my money back on it! But that comment has completely helped me miles!I've not had a Seawych but knew a couple of owners. They loved them. However there are a couple of drawbacks. One you can't do much about is that they are a quite stodgy bilge keel design with those vertical foils. It doesn't help them perform as well as the more usual bilge keel design in which they are splayed.
That means when you heel the leeward keel digs deep in and becomes about vertical.
The other thing is that many Seawyches are very smart boats indeed. That one looks like it could be pretty tired. Old small boats never repay the time and money spent to bring them up to snuff.
Been there, done that, etc.
There are loads of small 18 ft boats around and probably some smart ones for not much money. Not many adverts at the moment, but asking in marinas, clubs and yards may uncover some.
If you can find one with a trailer, that's a bonus.
Don't get one with baggy sails. New sails will double your investment.
They are only small boats and will never achieve a high selling price, however much love you put into them.
