Does this have to be done manually each time you open up zyGrib? Or if left running would it update itself at the times given for the various data sources?

The "times given" are nothing to do with updates, but merely the intervals at which Zygrib requests projection data from the currently available weather model run. Shorter intervals = bigger grib file. I daresay that if you're really geeky it's possible to construct a program which would automatically get a new grib every x hours, but Zygrib does not include one. Nor do any of the other grib readers, so far as I'm aware.

In zyGrib options, ensure that you have a tick ny "data selector." In that way, whenever you go back and look at the display, you will instantly se the T=0, ie the initial data time.

Been using it since I got the iPad and found it very easy to use. Think it's the same data as zygrib.
