Anybody got a quick update on Holyhead these days?
It used to be one of our standard lay-over marinas when heading up or down the Irish Sea. I'm talking just about some sleep time when it's just the two of us so we don't need any facilities. We use Bardsey if tenable but Holyhead if it's a bit ugly - are there still moorings or anchorages inside the breakwater? We may be heading up in the next month so short days and small weather windows may play a part.
Thanks in advance

Moorings available through sailing club

The remenants of the marina landing stage were in pieces a week ago. Not that you want to come ashore. They will probably get wrecked tonight!

If you want a comfortable stop over Victoria Doc in Caernarfon offers far more comfort including fuel.
Passage at 3 hours around high tide over the bar is much easier with two new fixed beacons marking the Wreck and the MusselBank positions.

Holyhead is my home port and as said the sailing club has.moorings.and a pleasant club, showers etc. The marina pontoon is usable.and free on weekends since the office is closed. Water but no electricity. I often use it for loading up.
