what do you think of this boat from 1991? marine behavior?
do you think the very high second-hand price is justified?

thank you for your feedback.

Lovely boats, well built, very expensive.

I will be selling our Island Packet SP Cruiser in 2025/6.

A 2007 build, all the bells and whistles, solar, 8KW Genny, code zero on a furler, huge tankage, huge storage.

Less money too...........................

A colleague of mine had a build slot reserved for a Sirius in 2024, a 2 year wait at the time and it was to be exhibited at SIBS 2025. The cost kept increasing and the final price was going to be North of £380K once the spec. had been agreed but due to materials and labour, the cost still increased.

Eventually my colleague did not sign the final contract to build.

Lovely looking boats, very expensive, especially new, with nice features. I was very impressed at a recent boat show with everything but the price.

Are they worth the money?

Of academic interest only as I cant afford one.

I will stick with my Island Packet SP Cruiser until the end of next year when we shall downsize.

If anyone fancies the only series production modern motorsailer with all its virtues-and drawbacks-it is OE but with an 8KW genny, solar, inverter, code zero on a furler, outboard crane and has been well maintained, mostly by me. A full description of these very comfortable vessels can be found on the iphomeport under 'IP model info'.

We might go to the 'Dark Side' as age creeps up.

Or, we could just pull the rig and use her as a motorboat ;)
