Man said to chuck in my yellow diesel…. Looks a bit iffy to me…. Now have starting problems…. As with my other post of lack of compression but boat appears to have compression again…. Naff diesel?

Not wishing to be too critical. But, if you are having engine problems it may be better to stick to one thread instead of new posts scattered around.

Looks like Parafins have clouded the diesel .... cupful of gasoline in that would help break it up. If you've already thrown it into the boat tank ... throw in the gasoline ... and hope its enough.

If its Kerosene - which I doubt - it won't hurt the engine at all ..

Where did the diesel come from?

Look up : Nanuk Diesel.

Agreed that 'straight Kero' has lack of lubricity but if thrown into a tank with diesel in already - its a point that is negated.

Anyway - looking at the photo - as I said before - it looks like Cloudy Diesel ... possibly summer diesel that was left over winter .. parafins dropped out and not dissolved back ... this would lead to poor starting as the parafins will clog filters ..

Remedy ? Dose of Kero or Gasoline to break up the parafins ...

The oil sump erm…. Was … how do I say…. Bloody empty have refilled now… but yeh… there wasn’t any oil in the bloody engine

It was in the tank for a whole 3 weeks…

I put red in yesterday and apparently has water in it…tanks very bitty… but injectors are fine… cylinder smokes.. so fuel is burning - but not firing

15 litres of iffy diesel into 20 litres of clean…

Apparently sabbs run off oil… can put any old diesel in and it’ll be fine drained it last night - left sone water in… she has treatment in for diesel bug… going to leave her for a week then come back and try again must be something simple like last time I got her engine running
