World Exclusive, Boat Never pictured Before!!!!

Re: idrive v COMAND

Agree entirely. The Merc COMAND system is better simply because it does'nt try to be so clever. The BMW Sat Nav menus are downright confusing until you know your way around them. Inputting a destination on my 7 takes you through 3 menus before you actually get to type in the destination. But the biggest annoying thing about the I drive screen for me is a simple one. The screen does'nt dim automatically when you switch the lights on (as COMAND does) so you have to go through 3 or 4 menus to get to the Brightness control. Also the TMC is just plain useless, not a patch on Trafficmaster
I bought a Nissan 4x4 a couple of months ago. The SatNav on that is way better than the I drive one

So with all this talk about Car designers, who designed the new 3series Coupe as i think it looks stunning. Can't wait too see the new M3. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also my father has a new 5 series and i think its a lovely looking car, as long as it has big wheels.

I take it I am numbered amongst the self-appointed experts.

What makes you think I don't have any relevant marketing or design skills. Didn't always run a B&B you know.

[/ QUOTE ]

Have to admit to a touch of trolling there just to see who'd bite, /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I accept your point about not always in B&B as goes for me too! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

But just consider this, people generally drive their 'car' to their 'boat' and not visa versa. Also a boat is a luxury item only for leisure purposes. (unless a professional of course)

I'm not on a troll now, but if you were to list the main buying motives for a car against a boat the list may have similarities but the order of priority would be completely different.

As ever, the method of taking the product to market would differ immensely in the States, Europe and UK too!

Apologies if I offended earlier.

Nice to see these 'secret' pictures. Nice looking boat and I'm sure that when the protective layers are removed the large picture windows will blend as with other 'Abs' models.

I also think they are an important feature, internally they will allow plenty of light in and a good view out, which can be a negative on typical sports boats. They really impressed me when I looked at them last Sibs.

The hips are in keeping with current trends and although some might think unnecessary they don't spoil the lines at all (personal) I also liked the Sessa.

A great thread, ruined by stupid personal views about crap Krout cars though! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Tis a pretty good thread and i've enjoyed reading everyones views.

You've obviously been looking at these boats!
Don't you think the Absolute 52 or even the 47 would be a good step up from Panache /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif????
You know you really want too be a boy racer again /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And we really need an Absolute owner on the forum, so as we get more pics of these beautiful boats! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cheers

Al.

Al,

We already have an Absolute owner on the forum, I believe Nautical has at least 3! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif The only problem with Absolute is availability....there is none!

Love them a lot, like there style and class, definitely lead the 39 and 42ft Market and I am sure these new boats are contenders in the bigger arena.

Cheers

Paul /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yes, but Nautical isn't allowed to post general pics of his boats! Thats why he asked me too post these ones for him..... Oops!!!

With Absolutes, its sounds like its a sellers market, as far as i can see there are no USED 39's for sale anywhere in the world! I think people would be queueing up too buy it if there was!!

Seems we have the same taste.

Cheers

I am out again in a week to choose internal finishes etc so hold on to your hat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Only 39 available euro wide at the mo is our own demo and we may keep her for soto show as we cant get a new one till January /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Still, new factory comes on stream in a few months so hopefully next season we can get a least another 20-30% boats over this year.

Here is a shot I sneaked from the board room a couple of weeks ago of the new yard. Went to see the site last week, its bloomin huge /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif all brand spanking new and state of teh art stuff, budget has now gone to 26 million euro for phase 1, even the test tank can take an 85 footer!

Not bad going for a company that only started with a 25' six years ago from a shed, now likely to be the third largest euro builder of premium sports cruisers by 2010, blimely! I should have bought shares a few years ago /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif sometimes the hype is true, bit of a smack in the mouth for those builders who said it couldnt be done back at SIBS in 2004 and said we were mickey mouse, bet some wish they had our order book now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry that sounds a bit arrogant, apologies but it does give one a little smile when things in this very fickle industry go well and there are success stories contrary to what all the knockers had to (and still do) say.

I do look at your 39 for sale quite a lot, and wish i had the money to buy it!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sounds like Absolute are going from strength to strength, which is brilliant, and i am absolutely delighted for them. But one has too think if they become a HUGE mainstream boat builder with dozens of new employees, throughing out hundreds of boats a year, will the Build Quality suffer??? And how are Absolute going to stop that from happening???
I WILL own an Absolute one day, I only hope they're great quality, stunning looking boats then as they are now! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A tank too fit a 85ft,, So when is that going into production??? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Before or after the 63??

Cheers

Not arrogant, just very enthusiastic and proud of a product you believe in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And quite rightly so. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW, NOTICE to all reading this, contrary to what people may think, i have ABSOLUTEly no connecting with Nautical, Ocean Nautic, or Absolute at all!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

How do you think Absolute compares with the Atlantis range? I've looked at both boats almost side by side at the Cannes show and I have to say they are both great boats in sub 40 foot range. Why should I buy the absolute over the Atlantis?

Jeez, this is absolutely the Absolute mutual admiration society is'nt it? If you're not on commission you must be on a promise of a mega discount or something /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Btw, I did hear that all forum members get a 20% discount on any new Absolute.

The 20% discount exclusive to forum members should help you make your mind up

if I am not wrong
the Absolute brand was formed by x-Gobbi (Atlantis) employees....
I think Atlantis have a more modern flare with with there boats, see oak finished interior which is becoming the standard nowadays which appeared on the 55 a few years ago

I prefare the Abs 39 on Atlantis 39 for the cockpit layout
with the 42 Atl or Gobbi 425 versus Abs 41 or 45 I think this will be as close as you can get

the Atlantis 50 and 55 are brilliant designs but I think cause of the different propullsion system, classic shaft for the Atlantis while IPS for Absolute comparison is a bit difficult

[ QUOTE ]
Can you tell me the difference between the Gobbi 425 and the Atlantis 42? Saw them next to each other last week and they looked identical to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Atlantis is a bit shorter
no bow platform
Atlantis is better spec up (shining cherry wood, bigger fuel tanks)
Atlantis Passarelle is retractable and dissapears
Gobbi has full beam mid cabin (over lenght is 45 ft in Bow Platfrom)
Atlantis is 43ft

when Azimut presented the Atlantis 42 they told me they would stop the 425 SC, but sales have been x3 for each Atl 42 sold so market sucess make them leave in production as yet
in Rome Marina for e.g. I saw 20 + 425 SC and only 2 42 Atlantis
in Croatia the numbers are the same....
