No its not just 'another' Hardtop, this Absolute I'm sure you will agree looks absolutely stunning. Interior wise it has three double cabins (big ones), three en-suites, big saloon up arrangement, good sized galley on same level as saloon, 600 kg lift hi lo platform, big cockpit and if thats not enough, it does 33 knts with just twin 435hp engines. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm sure Nautical will fill us in with more details once he reads this post. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They did? I missed that bit of news. Never mind, keep at the sales pitch, and I'm sure you'll be amply rewarded /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does look nice though, and having been on an Absolute at SBS, I know interior fit will be good too.

Can't help myself "absolutley stunning".

But are the buckets on the Transom for dodgy Bilge pumps or are they depth charges to ward off the opposition?

Oh dear, I'm going to go against the grain.

I think it looks a bit awful, the windows look out of proportion with the rest of the boat and the stern looks horribly square and (deep breath) sealiney. The other Absolutes look "poised" but this just looks odd.

Well that's you fired Al ...../forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, can't keep a secret /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You were supposed to study the pictures then go suss the opposition and report back, now they know more about us than we know about their tea lady /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, some PI you are /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well actually we dropped her in the water for the first time on Friday and did a bit of pootling about and Volvo came with their box of tricks and as usual hogged the whole test session /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The tubs of sand are there to make up the gross weight of the boat incl, Jet Rib, full fuel, water, stores, 16 people and a bit extra for measure and then the stability tests. Man, your arms are a foot longer heaving all that on and off /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Big sea trials start in about three weeks which basically involves yours truely and a few others doing their best to break it then tweak the final fit and finish accordingly.

Our own one will be the Dusseldorf show boat and then she gets shipped to Hamble so anyone wants to have a jolly on her and test the next gen joy stick then jump on and have a play, I certainly will be, won't see me for dust so expect a lull in my appearance here /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And.......a big thank you to those forumites that have contributed off line over the last year with ideas and comments on her design, layout, spec etc...thank you!

Apologies if I am in over zelous mode, bit of a proud dad moment really at the minute so forgive the enthusasim and blatant pro mo but I had a bit to do with whether we went ahead with the project or not so its a big day in the Nautical house hold /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree. Lots of awkward design features (like the kink in the window line) which make you think of Korean cars and even Japanese quick-dating designs. See latest Honda Civics.

Now look here. You are a mobo owner now, so best to get up to date on what is acceptable lines for a mobo, not those wooden things with washing lines /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unfortunately not she will be premiered at Cannes but we will be joint world premiering the new 47 hard top at SIBS which I think is the first time at SIBS an Italian builder has supplied a brand new design in timing with their own world premier, although I could be wrong of course which I quite often am /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Personally i think the latest Honda Civic looks great, and i hope more car companies follow suit with designs.

The side windows have shape, gone are the days where everything has to be square and flat! As i've said, each to their own.
Even the Westline W34 that Jez is selling has swoopy curved windows, and i remember them getting slated too, maybe its time we all moved on with the times, and designs.
I am sure Nautical will welcome all criticism.

Cheers

Al.

I presume those 3 cylindrical shaped objects about midships are the automatic fendering system, look about the right shape and size.
