World Exclusive, Boat Never pictured Before!!!!

Re: Ugly boat...

I think there have been quite a few that have not been immeditately taken with the new design, its is really and I mean really hard to provide all the features of this new model and still keep to the sleek and sexy lines of the current models. I suppose taken in context of what we have done so far she does seem out of step but we wanted to produce a yacht that would have more northern european appeal as well as med so that kind of dictated that she had to be fully enclosed and lots of headroom in the saloon. Personally for myself (well I would say so wouldn't I /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) she looks a stunner in the flesh and again I would say in comparison to what else is on offer is a step up in the cruisability stakes. Its easy to be critical but then one has to stand back and say ' yeah but in comparison to what else?'

I hope I get the chance to show you her when we get her to Hamble.

Re: Ugly boat...

Nautical - sorry it doesn't do it for me. Thank goodness we have so much choice choice to be 'opinionated' when it comes to boat design but it looks like a cross between an Azi/Atlantis with the worst bits of a Sunseeker thrown in to me? Is she designed by a different team ??

I think the current range are brilliant ( you should find that Wakeup and I may have been first to sing their praises on here after seeing them at BS's down here a few years ago) Given I live in the SoF, i'll see a few more here than on the Hamble I suspect!

I hope the fires last Thursday caused no problems for you ... La Rague was a 'bit of a mess' .

JFM --- sorry I've now read it all; obviously not alone as I had only picked up on the 'gushing' posts........ Love the new Aston btw -:)

Re: Ugly boat...

No worries, each to their own, I'll just have to sell you a 56 triple instead /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes quite a few down your way now, some our cleints and some from the SoF dealer, there a few up here too now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif even sold one to Finland recently /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Same design team but maybe my input and harrassing to build it has sent them over the edge /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks anyway for taking the time to comment.

Trev

PS everything seems normal in LaRague today, had a 45 lifted at DeBooms this morning and the guys are cracking on with new air con / sat TV installation etc

Re: Ugly boat...

Trev, would be interested to hear back from you about how good you think DeBoom's workmen/work are. The bossman Pierre Marechal can be ok but is hard work on a bad day imho. I gave up on them in the end and switched to Monaco Marine and the lovely Helene Rizzardi

Re: Ugly boat...

The VP guys are OK but the yard chaps are a bit slow off the mark and the crane bod is not the sharpest knife in the drawer having dinked the back of one of my stock boats /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I ve sent our chaps down there from Hamble in a van on Sunday to carry out retro fit of aircon in a 45 which perhaps er, says something /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Luckily swmbo is french so comms are not a problem and they know exactly what we want done or not as the case maybe rather than a few hicups we had in the early days with my poor french about what was the difference between a standard inspection service and the full monty mega bucks main service /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Elisabeth on the admin side is bob on and gets stuff booked in and out quite efficiently. All in all I'd say they are about average for SoF from the work I have had done although I wouldn't perhaps drop my Riva in there for a full refit /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

P.S. That wouldn't be Miss Rizzardi daughter of Rizzardi yacht fame would it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bet Sealine would have liked the SC Hardtops to have come out like this beaut. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Shame they have to be so big to get the lines though. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Ugly boat...

Thanks - useful to compare notes.

No, my typo, her name is Rizzardo. They are VP authorised agents by the way

The local dometic/marineair agents in LaNapoule, Polymarine, seem quite good, based on one time I had to use them

Mmm, before you say that, you'd have to see how Sogica would design a 29 footer or Sealine a 55 footer. IMHO it's a lot more difficult to successfully design a hardtop on a small boat than a large one
