Chum spotted a small Used Williams for sale and fancies buying it, to put on the back the back of his boat.
He rang to ask for a opinion.
He has neither davits or passerelle on his swim platfrom, mnetioned going to cost a fortune getting anything retrofitted to lift the Williams and not to forget all that stuff you cannot see hidden inside the stern.
As it will probabbly only used twice...............
My advice was to buy decent top of the range inflatable and quality fairly powerful 2 or 4stoke and sort some snap connectors.
Also suggested he find how far away the local Williams outlet was for servicing .

Not sure what reply you are looking for here.

They are heavy and any lifting mechanism will need to be substantial.

If flushed and serviced they are basically ok but anything can and does have problems and if they do then whilst you can fix much of it yourself ultimately Williams are the fixer of last resort as others do generally not want to fix them.

Unless prepared pay a lot to install the equipment capable of lifting the the Williams not worth the trouble.
Not practical to fit a cheaper snap system as doubt the Williams would take kindly to being turned virtually upside down when not being used.
Engine would have to be serviced and repaired in situ and dealer close by would be handy, where as the outboard could be dropped of at any outboard repair shop anywhere.
