Why I like boating on the SoF

Incredible the difference 200Km makes, quite windy and cool here today although the sun poked it's face out for a few minutes now and again.

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow morning (my last appointment was bumped due to an emergency while I was in the shower getting ready)...apparently he’s coming in Saturday morning just to see me...hope he’s in a good mood 🤔😳😜...he’s a good guy and a real rugby fan. After that we might go boating*
*I mean me and the wife...not me and the dentist

Been to the dentist...and after lunch we will take the boat out.
Dentistry today is amazing...first you go in because of a broken tooth and get a temporary filling and an appointment for a crown. Because of the advancements in material science, the temporary filling is as good as a new tooth (remember when they use to fall out when you take your first bite ?)....the visit for the crown is also extraordinary....the injection doesn’t hurt at all...and while it’s unpleasant having a drill in your mouth there is no actual pain...then instead of taking a mold in putty...a camera goes in your mouth and a million photos later there is a perfect model of your mouth on screen... and instead of that digital mold going to a technician to make your crown which arrives back in a week...the image goes straight to a miniature CNC milling machine (his is kept in the waiting room so you can see your tooth being formed)...12 minutes later your perfect crown is lying on the bottom of the milling machine. It then gets put in with hi tech adhesives...and Bob’s your uncle....a new crown in one visit !...I wonder what happened to all those dental technicians who used to make crowns🤔🤷‍♂️

Last time at the dentist she put a thickish card in my mouth, a minute later there was a full 3d x-ray of my mouth... all done by Bluetooth 😁

Tell me about it 😉😉😉
Yes your experience is very typical these days .
The temp ‘ materials these days are adhesive glass ionomer cements , they work in damp environments, thus low failure rates and mimic tooth structure. In Paediatric dentistry and certain adult cases often used as permanent restorations .

This technology was around in the early 80 s btw .Siemens invented the milling machine back then . I recall first using one ( early pioneering ) @ Guys mid 80s .

Thx for The plug .
