Whitlock 30nch wheel

Changed my wheel up to 36 inch a while ago and keep this as a just in case , since sold the boat and still have this , the new one cost over £350 but I'm open to serious offers around £100 .

Hi , it is the original wheel but was only on the boat for a year or so and barely used . I bought the boat an endurance 51 and immediately realised with some small mods to the cockpit we could accommodate a 36 wheel which had a significant impact on the loads on the helm . So it wasn't taken off because it had damage or any defects it's still in very good condition just old . Btw it's a tapered keyway fitting .Nigel

No problem . Just bear in mind it's a Whitlock tapered shaft with a keyway.

Hi Paul yes I do still have it . Definitely looks like that, not sure about the taper size however . It's at home in the garage so I can't measure it until I'm back after new year unfortunately . Nigel

That’s fine I can measure the taper on mine and you can check in that. Looking at the size of your boat can you let me know where you are measuring the 30 from, if it’s the centre it will be too big but if it’s diameter then it would could well fit.

Hi Paul . Yes it is the diameter . I had to think then for a minute with the modern trend towards these huge wheels - but definitely the diameter . I'll check when I get back, the boss depth and entry and exit diameters . N

Hi Paul finally home and checked the wheel dimensions . The boss is 25mm deep and the taper is 25mm - 18mm Over the 25mm . Which I think is bigger than yours looks . A cone would be a simple thing to get made if you wanted it they may even have one at Whitlock's . N
