Which is better \"Motor Boats Monthly\" or \"Motor Boat & Yachting\"?

I'm torn between the two! I'm interested in power boating on a budget and boats up to around 50 feet. I want practical articles, hints and tips, passage planning guides and in depth location reports. Which is best?

MBY is for squillionaires, and for reading in the dentists waiting room.

MBM for people in the real world.

Actualy what you really want is PBO, just ignore all the references to flappy things.

Agree i cancelled subs to MBY years back and replaced with PBO, excellent read!

Thanks. I've not read either for many years. My interested have changed over the years. I started in an Optimist, then Topper, Laser, then a Hunter Sonata, then a Cape Cutter, then a small RIB, next a bigger RIB and now I'm into powerboats.

I tend to buy mby when I buy a lottery ticket! it always seems to sell out faster than mbm. must be lots of dreamers (me included) out there.

I've had a boating history not unlike yourself.

I tend to buy MBY to show SWMBO the boats you could buy.....

I buy MBM for the boats I will buy (when they're at least 10-15years old!) and the current MB news.

I buy PBO for the practical stuff and the AD's etc.

I used to buy Boat Mart for the AD's but the standard of the articles were not up to PBO and MBM.

MBY is repetative many pictures articles just re written and go round again.
An out of touch publication.

I prefer MBM I find MB&Y contains stuff far beyond by league /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif(pun intended .. gerrit?)
I also read Mart Mart, although I now find it a little "samey"
PBO, evey now and then, but MBM does it for me.
Mind you, the forum is like having a new boat mag every day /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for all your comments. I used to subscribe to PBO, when I had a sailing boat, with those flappy things. I just love that comment. So, I've subscribed to MBM.
