Where\'s this then?

and wasn't it nice that the Beeb and Meto forecasters had sundays weather wrong even on Saturday night ...

Na ... too far West ...

the CP is north orientated and I'm sailing towards a port channel marker - from another one ...

Was a nice sail - only my second time single handing this one...

In that case, is all that string holding up the keel ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How did you get on single handed Fireball? I was on my todd on Sat cracking sail to the Nab. Hardly anyone about and a helicopter on a training exercise for entertainment. Slightly marred by a major mechanical failure approaching Bembridge. I had to turn and run back for Chichester at 6 knots. Good going for my girl.

Re: Where\'s this then?

we draw 6' ... I've tried knocking the keel off - it didn't work ... we still draw 6'

Re: Where\'s this then?

You managed to get out the harbour then - I didn't have so much time /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ...

It was fine - only had to do 1 short tack but there were few other boats around, otherwise I'd've stuck on the donka for that bit. The Raymarine TP would've worked better if I'd put a turn in the Genoa - I had to assist it several times during the gusts - but then she generally wants a reef in around 14 knots ... but full sail is so much more fun!

I went home on Saturday night on the basis of that forecast - woke up Sunday to sunshine and no wind. Had a great walk in the Chilterns but would have rather been sailing.
How can they get it so wrong?
