FullCircle is barred from this one, as he already knows where I was.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd guess the Eastern Adriatic. It's been a few years since I've been there but I would guess that Croatia would be getting that busy, now that their neighbours have stopped shooting each other for about several years.

Costa Brava - just north of Barcelona. I think the first is Palamos - which was orrible - and the second is a tiny, lovely-looking port , can't remember name, that we wanted to stop at but didn't get chance.
Close?

Palamos is spot on for the first....

The port itself I agree is 'orrible..... but take the Costa Brava coastal walk a short way in either direction and it is very nice indeed..... the town of Palamos isn't perfect, but is in many ways a nice little town with a pleasant atmosphere and with a superb beach and a stunning mountain backdrop... at the south end of the Palamos bay is an amazing sheltered anchorage... can't think for the life of me why anyone would want to go into the marina with an anchorage like that just 1/4 mile away.....

The second piccy is just north of Palamos, and as Richard has already said, is absolutely fantastic, and now most definitely on our destination list... any takers?

But can anyone get into that second port - pilot says it's rammed most of the time - and I'm not sure my berthing skills are up to squeezing our 12m in there! Have to check out the anchoring possibilities.

Well Saturday it was half empty...... out of season I guess....

It was an easy open entry, and there are quite a few buoys if it is full.... besides, either side of the main bay there are lovely anchorages....

No-one is likely to get it so i'll end the thing by saying that its Llafranc.....

....quite the prettiest harbour I have come across in Spain.... a quiet tranquil harbour surrounded by a beautiful village with cobbled roads and miles and miles of woodlands....
