Dunno, but what ever you do stay away from Mount Gould area. Its a crap hole. I worked down there a few years ago on the new drug rehab unit. Says it all really!

The Barbican area is very nice and very boaty, as is a stroll along Hoe.

I hear the night life on Union Street can be rather exciting at times!...
But apparently not a patch on what it use to be !..

Of course this is only conjecture on my part, As I personly would never be seen in such a area, Besides SHMBO won't let me anymore !......

The barbican of course. Boat parts must be one of the best chandlers in the country. Find it at QAB.

Take the water taxi (Ferry) to Mountbatton and sit in the new pub watching the boats go by.

Oh!! And see how the upholsterers getting on with my boat!!

"Water Taxi" - why not tell him where you keep your speare keys and he can take MF out for a spin and clean the algae off it.

We all know that you keep the boat miles away from home and never get down to use it very often /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Diamond Lils

Just asked SWMBO about Diamond Lils, She reckons it disappeared years ago,

Just how she knows this and her involvement in that establishment if any I
am yet to determine !...... OUCH. "none I have just being told" !

You are not far from Falmouth (be sea it's not far anyway!) to the National Maritime museum - it really is great, a "must See" and generally I reckon that I'm not in to that kind of caper, but it's highly recommended.

Two other places worth going to IMHO are Plymouth Dome on the Hoe and the newish Aquarium adjacent to Sutton Harbour. Both of which are atleast slightly nautical. I'd also take a boat trip up to the Dockyard and back if you don't know the harbour very well. Boats leave from the Mayflower Steps next to the Barbican area. You can also do a tour of - and sample - Plymouth Gin again in the Barbican.

been there.. done that!

thanks for the info.. stayed overlooking the Hoe, Hmmmm grey ships! my favourite (but not in "that" way!)

went for a nice walk round the Hoe today after visiting Yoda, to pick up some bits... thanks mate.. i owe ya..

been to the plymouth aquarium not long ago.. being into fish and nature and stuff.. but didn't allow us long to look about... had to be back in sunny dorset by 5:00!

i'm going back to stay for a long weekend early next year, and give myself more time!

still, very nice place to be... next time may have to get someone to arrange a fri/sat night out????

thanks for all the advice, regards, steve.
