Some general thoughts - a bit "What boat" so hopefully will have lots of input.

Those Salpa have a Sonny Levi hull and take the sea really nice. Probably not finished as nice as a Sealine, but the one with single 150hp (diesel?) would be very tempting if the condition is okay.

The Larson 240 Cabrio with the stepped hull are really not so good sea boats, and only good in real calm conditions. The D4-210 should be powerful enough as these things are light,

As for Sealine, is the 260 with diesels? If she is with 31s I would go for it, especially since you it is were you want to be boating wise.
Interesting - I ruled it out because I feared the Rear cabin would be too snug - it looked a decent boat otherwise. Had it been a diesel I would still be strongly considering it.

Interesting about the Larson - didn't know that so that might rule that one out...

The 260 has a single KAD42 230hp so I think powerful enough for inshore / near offshore cruising. It's a nice boat but a bit more old fashioned - but I think I can live with that and the price (especially with a bit of a deal perhaps) should be manageable for me. It's a bit more to moor / store but otherwise all good.

The 230 Sealine with an AQD is a nice looking option - I think I'd jump at it with KAD32 but I think it might be underpowered as mentioned above...

I will go and look at the 260 and keep my eyes peeled for a nice S23

How are you getting on in your search?

I am interested as I’ve bought one of the boats on your initial list - the Four Winns 248 Vista. You’re right it doesn’t look like a 2008 boat (it is a late 1990s design and production ended in 2009), but I am hoping it is a relatively good buy at what I paid once it’s been cleaned, polished, readied for the summer and hauled up to Loch Lomond.

Not well - still very torn!!

If the deal is done do you mind me asking what you paid and was it the actual one on the list (you can do it by PM if you prefer)

I am still swaying between buying and just hiring one when I want to go boating - Hamble yacht charters have Axopars at £1300 for a weekend which if you got up all the costs of boating isn’t too bad if you only go out 3 or 4 times a year

That's a shame, but still time for the upcoming season.

I've PM'd you some details, but in short; I paid c.20% below asking as it was an unloved boat which does need money spent on it. But marine engineer said the engine seems good, which was my main worry/possibly deal-breaker.
