This is the home of MTU Engines - the second larges employer in the region. And, as you say, ZF Gearboxes are here as well and are the biggest employer in the area so you can see that the area is a special place for marine engineering.

Have I been lake sailored here - Bodensee is German for Lake Constance.
Spent many happy hours at Uberlingen and Meersburg

The food was fab
Didnt have a bad meal anywhere.
But to make life easy, we ended up at an Italian for a couple of evenings.
Sorry I cant remember the names of the restaurants

Our hotel was the Hotel City Krone on Schanzstr - the Italian was on the same street.

But the best restaurant by by far was about half way along Friedrichstr (the road beside the park) - about at the junction with Bahnhofplatz. This was a German restaurant that MTU took us to - the rosted garlic chille peppers as a starter were fab.

Thanks for that Looking forward to it as with a couple of skippers who are berthed next to me in Mahon. so its very much a boys trip doing boys things. Hope we enjoy as much as you did.

Yes your quite right just finished first day with Ralf. Everybody has enjoyed a great day what ever their pre knowlage has been.

What a great facility for training two floors of training rooms covering every aspect from the fuel going in to the prop going round.

This is heaven for anybody interested in engines or wishing to learn more about them.

The factory visit is interesting as well.
