Well , things started well, great run over from Solent was had by Col, Tim and myself, on different boats I will point out.

Beer, as welcoming drinks to all, a shopping trip was kind of decided on , well it is coming near to Xmas, well got half way up Poole shopping street and theres a very nice pub along there and whoosh, shopping abandoned by all but the hardy, [ fair weather shoppers hurf]
So shopper and and non shopper moved by late afternoon to a pub nearer the boats and the time was set to meet for the evening meal, which Steve had organised.
There were 16 of us in all.
And yes photos,
Well thats were it ER started to go a bit ER forum ish .

Part 2

story teller I am not but well see what you make of this,
all is fictional!!!!

Well, after a later surfacing of the assembled crews, frantic cooking of breakfasts by Vickie the super wife of Col, for her hopefully very gratefully ship mates. The smell of bacon , sausages and beans has a tendency to draw you to that boat. Even when you have had a great full English breakfast early, So by that time all those who where around where on cols boat.
Then the "oh , that heater was good value" and " can we go get some sweets for the trip back" so crew members disappearing and col trying to get boat ready.
So first he puts on his magnetic hat, well its the only reason i can see for it pointing that way,
magnetic_hat.jpg

and George had been told to stand on the bow to help it get up on the plain, but
hands_up.sized.jpg

But not yet says Col need to get under way first.and wheres you life jacket.
Oops says George and runs to get it.
But maybe George needs to ER move to the bow, or did col store all the beer on the port side.
tilled_boat.jpg

Look say George got it now.

stick_in_mud.jpg

Col if I take this pole out will she move faster.

nose_down.jpg

crew in place ready for the off,

I told you there were cameras around.

Hi Arthur, what part of US are you in? I visited San Diego and it was about 65F and all the boats were coming out the water! Spoilt rotten I call it!.
I am intending to have a short run (8 miles) to Cowes tomorrow morning and we will be damn lucky if it is anywhere near 10C!

Paul - we're near Sarasota, 60mi S of Tampa. It's going to be a chilly week with temps not exceeding 19C. It's a clear blue sky, but there won't be many boats out, except ours, which I'm going to give a short run to exercise her - holding tank pump-out, refuel (painful, even at $2/US gal) etc. I'm listening to Radio 4 on my computer and have just heard the UK weather forecast. Arrrggghhhh!

Sunscreen? But of course, all year round. Just went to the boat, but there's a very, very low tide and where we go for cheap petrol is up a narrow, shallow creek, so we'll do it a bit later.

Glad you all got back OK. What was the trip back like? When I looked out to sea from The Haven, it looked somewhat choppy, big white horses breaking over Hook Sands.

I think Col had Goldfish Vindaloo.

All that vindaloo and sea toilets, wouldn't have given much for the fishing on Sunday!
