I suggest you contact by PM the person posting "a question for James Jermain" and discuss their exact reservations about a Legend.
You may also wish to view the post crack in the Grid of a Beneteau. This last one does seem to confirm my own reservations about the Grid system and difficulties of repairing it - otherwise it must be a very cost effective initial construction method and in every other respect I like Beneteaus.
Reading most of the recent posts there does seem to be a number of people happily buying 2nd hand and new Bavs.
Its finally your call but I like to go into info gathering mode (as you appear to be) before I make a decision as it saves re inventing the wheel and some time a decision I may regret.
I note the comment that the North sea is different from the Solent, I appreciate that the Solent is relatively sheltered waters but most of us cross the channel frequently. Would anyone care to opinion whether the North sea is different from the channel and a different boat preferable apart from limiting the keel depth to say 1.6m (North Sea sandbanks).
Off sailing for next 10 days so good luck in your search. Will you be visiting SIB and the local 2nd hand shows?
When I look at boats for sale, I always avoid looking at the ones that end in 'y' because they are mostly expensive, ie, moody, southerly, westerly, rassy, . Seems such a shame to go for the AWB, you could skip buying the ford escort of the sea and go straight for the Rolls royce /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
