Flying from Brussels home to Scotland tomorrow then driving to the Cotswolds for the wedding of a friend’s daughter. Hadn’t actually twigged it was a BH weekend in England so might look at travelling at odd times to avoid the M6 logjam.

the fleshpots of the Solent, Poole and Weymouth.
I was staying in Weymouth many years ago while doing some work for the MOD at Portland. The owner of the small hotel I think thought she was a ‘fleshpot’ - bore a startling resemblance to Yootha Joyce from George and Mildred. Used to invite unaccompanied males back to her room for a ‘nightcap’ when the bar closed.

No bank holiday boat trips.
Weather forecast over the next few days doesn't look good but in any case have other things to do.
Engine oil change on boat is required.
Preparing boat for boat trip at a later date when the weather may have improved.
Marking exam papers. Only a few left to do.
Grandaughter Nr 3' s birthday on Sunday.
Child minding grandchildren due to grandparent in law very ill in hospital.

Unlike some, I love Weymouth. Hope to take the new boat there for her first excursion (in our hands) out of the Solent.
We like Weymouth as well! We're there now. Whether it's the lovely walks, splendid fish & chips, sheltered beach or a Bee Gees tribute at the Pavilion*, it's all jolly good fun.

A good run from the Solent or an easy 2 dayer.

* Yep, my wife persuaded me to go and it was surprisingly enjoyable - I didn't know that the Gibb brothers wrote "Chain Reaction" as performed by Diana Ross.

"My bad" as the kids say, we're going next weekend. Got confused as the Aug Bank Holiday is normally the last weekend of the month so Dartmouth trip is 30th onwards.

Great save......:)

Sister's birthday on the 27th hence my body clock being thrown even more. Not often it's the bank holiday weekend before I have to log into Moonpig.
