Going to Palma Mallorca in the middle of June and was wondering if there is anything I need to add to my list of things to take with me.
Looking at the inventory of the boat it is well equipped (lot better than mine) the only thing I was going to add is my handheld vhf. But what else can I take to make the holiday more enjoyable, do I need a wetsuit or oilskins at this time of year?
Or is there something else I need to take that I'm missing, any advice or tips greatly appreciated I've never chartered before.

I was very glad of an umbrella. No kidding! In Yugoslavia (as was) we had several torrential showers which were just a bit too chilly for swimming togs but someone has to stay outside and steer!

An empty suit case, to bring some stuff back! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

A friend and I chartered a Bav 32 out of Brighton about two and a half years ago. He decided to bring his daughter along...

...we're now living together.

Definitely some teabags, an iPod and books.

I tend not to take any of my own equipment as I've done this before and it's never come out of the bag.

Can't imagine that you'd need a wetsuit, unless you're into prolonged diving. Water temps should be around 20 to 23C depending how enclosed your bay is.

Nor full oilskins. Light waterproof tops are usually enough, just to keep the salt spray off when it's windy. It's really pretty warm most of the time in June (though you may hit a day or three of unsettled weather if you're unlucky).

Hat, especially if you're bald, with hold on string
Sunscreen
Lipsalve
Sailing gloves if you've got tender little hands (nasty sharp mussels on some pick up warps)
Polaroid sunglasses (easier to see the bottom)
You don't need GPS to navigate round there, tho it's nice if you want to be lazy.

Places to go? Check out my website. And your charter guys will be very useful with up to date info . . .

Marmite. You can't seem to get it anywhere abroad.

Hmm, it's the same with depleted uranium... I wonder if theirs a common reason?

In the past I've bought a Pilot book and a passage chart of the area. It increases the fun by letting you plan a few stops in advance. You can then have the added bonus of ignoring your pre-plan when you arrive.

A few years ago some charterers did not supply full pilot books, just notes from the company, so of course once you have bought them you should carry them.
Have a good trip
