Anyone care to guess what this is?
Virtual pint for the first correct guess - or real pint should we meet in real life some time this summer.

Looks like a bad case of diesel bug to me?

Close enough - contents of the diesel pre-filter.
Looking in the fuel tank (only about 20% full), the diesel's a clear shade of red.

Once I get the filter, plan's to service the engine, motor of all of 20m to the fuel pontoon, fill up, add a liberal portion of Grotomar71 (thank you Full Circle) and take it from there.

Departure on summer cruise now scheduled - all going well - for next Sunday.
One week late :(

Why no spare filters in ships stores

Because - unlike you :p;) - I'm not perfect.
Used the spares last year :o

Delayed departure not really a problem - though it has curtailed our 'range' somewhat.
It seems that as I've reached the stage where I'm winding down career-wise (3 years, 3 months and 7 days to go), my beloved other half has gotten herself a high-flying career.
As I write this, she's wheeling and dealing with the big-wigs the other side of the pond. Due back Saturday very AM - hence the Sunday PM departure.

I am only a humble amateur sailor

I'd open and clean out the tank rather than relying on patent medicines. Don't forget to clear the pipework between the tank and the primary filter it's a common site for muck.

Cleaning out the tank will have to wait till winter.
Am hoping that the addition of 300+ litre of clean diesel combined with the Grotomar71 will sufficiently dilute the diesel still in the tank to enable us to survive the next 2 weeks.
As I said earlier, the fuel in the tank still looks clear.

Re -that grotama stuff , I have a bottle in a locker but the label is now illegible - so , how much should I put in 60 litres approx of fuel ?

Preventative only ......

From manufacturers website:

As a preventive dose add 125 ml (1/4 can) for each 500 litres of total tank volume, every time the tank is refilled.
