What? No Scots then? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Why would the Scots be there any more than any other nation other than say Israelis? I can understand Arabs not going because they will not want to celebrate Rabbi Burns night.

Great night at The Queensferry Boat Club too and even the wee timerous beesties got their share of haggis..

A flavour for the southerners with no help in translation /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Is that the yacht club with no yachts ?
The club that sails when there is generally not much wind.
The self professed 'friendly' club that aren't ?

Glad you enjoyed the whiskey and haggis mind.

Only my opinion.

No Yachts? Motor Yachts abound, it is after all one of the biggest clubs on the Thames and many of the members get in a bundle of sea time too.

Unfriendly! I can think of exactly the two or three peeps that you refer to. These pompous pratts are stuck so far up their own rectums they cannot see daylight. HOWEVER there are tons of nice people in the club too.

Yup, points taken. Tis always the minority that can give a club a bad name.
Was in a bit of a strop last night so dont mind me. I always thought UTSC was purely dinghy racing, etc. Didn't know MY's were allowed ?
Once again, glad you enjoyed yourselves.

A misunderstanding?

Byron is talking of the UTMYC at Sonning, whereas the UTSC is at Bourne End, and is dinghy racing etc.

Always a nice welcome in there (UTSC) when I used to go to RUG's meeting there.

TeeHee, we are talking about Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club based at Sonning and one has to be a motor boat owner to be a member. BUT!!! EVEN SO!!! the fact is there are one or two members I could cheerfully strangle because of their appalling attitude and the damage it does. There are several Forumites who are no doubt thinking the same names as me.

Has all become a lot clearer. Thanks.
Whats the name of your boat Byron ?

[/ QUOTE ]

I only have an ex-Thames Conservancy 30' launch these days, it is called 'ASHMOUNT'
I used to have a Princess 435 as well she was called Ocean Eagle but age got the better of me and single handing her everywhere became too much of a chore.
